Developed at North Carolina State University as a winter thriving grass in 1980. Raleigh St Augustine has a medium green color coupled with a coarse texture that adapts to thrive in heavier clay soils with low pH levels most suited in the southern region of the United States. Compared to its other St.augustine siblings, Raleigh is the most widely adapted variation produced and purchased in South Texas.
